Charlamagne Tha God gives Erica Mena’s PR team Donkey of The Day
This joint had me #crying. And as a PR/Communications professional, I found his commentary to be not only hilarious, but also extremely insightful for future work. PR teams/firms are supposed to give an extra boost to their clients, whether it’s warranted or not. But where is the line drawn. In the code of ethics, it’s always best to be honest, but I think it’s also important to be realistic. Erica Mena’s PR firm know’s she is not the most talked about female in Pop culture and they know damn well that besides her few fashion campaigns, she’s still a thong wearing video chick with a pretty face. Lastly, this PR firm knows that she’s totally tarnished her professional image through her recent appearances on reality TV and WSHH. So why fake the funk?? This is a key example of how being overly ambitious and cising stats and experience is never going to excel your clients’ career. If anything, it’ll just weigh it down and lessen their credibility. PR 101: Highlight your client’s special attributes, but be realistic about their resume.
